The reputation of a brand doesn’t rely solely on the items they produce. Instead, it manifests as a result of the social good done by a brand. In order to stay competitive in the mind of a 21st century shopper, brands must provide inspiration and source of goodness. The heart of a brand aligning with the heart of a consumer is the perfect recipe for brand loyalty.
Consumer brand alliances can evolve from a sense of association with a certain brand to a way of identifying oneself. This metamorphosis into identifying with a brand doesn’t present itself in the way one dresses, but in the way one behaves. For example, it wouldn’t mean that someone becomes so attached to Gucci that they only wear deep green and snakes. Instead, it would be present in their mindset, emphasizing positive change through prioritizing the planet and supporting creative thinking.
During this period of insecurity and fear due to COVID-19, brands are becoming more socially aware than ever. This has driven brands to increase their efforts to give back to the community. We built Fluidity Designs around the idea of giving back to the community. We know our customers can find peace in knowing that loyalty to our brand is a commitment to helping those negatively impacted by COVID-19.

In a Vice article by David Shapiro, Brendon Babenzian, the former creative director of Supreme, created Noah under the idea “that the clothing you wear might not be crucial and, at worst, might distract from what really matters... Life is about being connected to the world around you, not just looking good.” This thoughtful mindset is apparent in the brand’s project in support of Billion Oyster Project, an environmental nonprofit aiming to restore one billion oysters in New York harbor, creating an estuary with cleaner water and greater biodiversity.
Because fashion has become one of the most resource-intensive and wasteful industries, Noah features recycled materials in cashmere sweaters and cotton t-shirts. It donates to numerous causes, researches how to make its packaging less wasteful, and ensures it works with suppliers who treat their workers fairly. Babenzian recognizes there are limits to how sustainable a fashion brand can really be, and is conflicted in his contribution to the problem. “Noah is a reaction to frenetic consumer behavior and the idea that you need to own so much stuff...When we consume in a certain way, we need to get smart about it. We need to do it better.”
Through this lens, the Fluidity Designs project makes a compelling case. The purchase of our products contributes to a good cause, an argument that cannot be made for many brands today. ]]>

We think biker shorts are an incredible staple item. They can quite honestly be worn for any occasion. Who said you have to wear them only for working out? As we move into the warmer months, we find these to be the most comfortable shorts you can own. Pair them with another athleisure item for lounging around or even a more dressy top for those Zoom happy hours. Do you have a video interview coming up? Layer on a blazer to transform your look into a business professional one. The options are endless!

Hello there,
Are you sick of being bored during quarantine? Well, we are here to help! Today the FD team will be sharing with you various ways to stay busy that will keep your head out of the dumps while practicing social distancing to protect your community. Here are 5 things you can do while cooped up in your home:
Netflix launched a new program which is taking movie-watching with friends to the next level. Here you can access the instructions on how to download the program onto your computer. It only works on Google Chrome, so make sure you have that.
Yep, you've been in bed scrolling down your Instagram, Twitter, AND TikTok newsfeed watching funny TikTok dance videos like the rest of us. Why not get your booty up and make one yourself? They are a bunch of fun! Honestly, if you are anything like us, you’ll end up getting a good workout in because you literally find yourself running through a routine about 10 times until you are convinced it is good enough for the world to see. If you need help getting started, Annabelle Holman, a fellow Tar Heel, wrote a killer article about how to learn a TikTok dance.
It probably sucks not being able to casually “pull up” to your friend’s place to simply watch movies, gossip about the new attractive person in your class, or even catch up on each other’s personal lives. Luckily, we are in a new age that allows us to use technology as a medium to connect with one another. Yes, it doesn’t compare to being able to get that comforting hug or kiss, but just remember that this period — similar to most terrible moments in life — is temporary.
A classic... with a twist. This pandemic may be a very traumatic experience for you. It struck an entire global panic, and if you are experiencing this time alone without friends or family near you, it's possible you are in desperate need to RELEASE your inner feelings. Try starting a journal and write in it every day. If you hate writing, start a vlog. It’s much easier because you literally just pick up your phone and talk to yourself out loud. Could you imagine rewatching the videos you made of yourself or rereading the things you said three years from now? You will be impressed by how far you came.
We polled the Fluidity Designs team, and yes, our favorite part about quarantining is the food. Reread that sentence again. Yes, eating — not cooking. There are a lot of our moms and dads who--with us at home unexpectedly--are always asking about new recipes that we would like to try. We say YES! Anything from fresh rolls of bread, blueberry muffins from scratch, and homemade Philly cheesesteaks. Every. dish. YES!!! Therefore, if you are currently living with someone who loves to cook, make sure to be volunteer tester for new recipes they'd like to try. Cooking also makes time go by faster. And tastier.
]]>In the midst of all that's happening these days, it's always nice to read a little something that's uplifting and hopeful. Today, we wanted to share with you a little history behind #GetUsPPE, the movement that you're helping with every purchase of a Fluidity Designs piece.
When the COVID-19 crisis first started escalating, healthcare workers were the first to notice personal protective equipment (PPE) shortages. On March 16th, Dr. Esther Choo and Matt Cortland started the hashtag #GetMePPE to bring awareness to this shortage and to spread knowledge about the Defense Production Act (DPA) which mandates that the president can require businesses to shift production to goods deemed essential for national defense.
Doctors across the country took notice and rallied, combining forces to create the the hashtags #GetMePPE and #GetUsPPE and make them go viral. By March 19th, #GetMePPE was a live petition, acquiring thousands of signatures and drawing attention to the immediate need for more PPE.
On March 20th, Dr. Shuhan He proposed a channel for distribution of PPE, after inaction from the government and rising need. www.GetUsPPE.org was born, with a clear message: register your need for PPE, and enable citizens to help by donating within their communities.
Today, GetUsPPE.org leads a nation-wide effort to get essential personal protective equipment to healthcare works across the country.
Here at Fluidity Designs, we're doing our part to help the #GetUsPPE movement. We recognize the challenges that healthcare workers are facing daily. Help us help them. Together, we can do a lot.
All the information in this post can be found at GetUsPPE.org.
